Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met yesterday with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Christophe Lutundula, in Washington, DC. The Secretary noted the recent attacks by M23 and other armed groups, urged de-escalation and stressed the importance of continued regional dialogue to resolve the ongoing conflict in order to advance the work of the initiative. Nairobi. Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Lutundula also discussed the importance of transparent and effective planning for the 2023 elections in the DRC.
