Punjab Assembly Elections: Congress High Command to decide Punjab Chief Minister: Navjot Sidhu

Elections in Punjab: Punjab will go to the polls on February 20.

Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu said on Saturday that the party high command will decide on the chief ministerial face for the upcoming State Assembly elections due to be held on February 20.
“The Congress makes decisions after analyzing the qualities of each leader. I have full confidence in the party. There is a party high command to decide the face of the CM. Whatever the decision of the party high command , we will accept the decision,” Sidhu told ANI. when asked about the face of the CM of the Congress during the assembly elections.
The Congress leader criticized the AAP’s projected chief ministerial face, Bhagwant Mann, in the ensuing elections to the Punjab Assembly, which he said cannot hold a press conference or make a statement without consult party leader Arvind Kejriwal.
Meanwhile, Nikhil Alva, who has been associated with Rahul Gandhi’s office and is his close associate, conducted a poll on his Twitter account asking who should be the face of the party for Punjab CM?
There are four options: Charanjit Singh Channi, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Sunil Kumar Jakhar and the fourth option is there is no need for a CM face.
Taking to Twitter, Mr Alva said, “Who should be the CM face of the Congress in Punjab? Charanjit Singh Channi, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Sunil Kumar Jakhar and No need for a CM face!”
Earlier, a video of actor Sonu Sood whose sister Malvika Sood is a candidate for Moga Assembly Congress in Punjab polls hinted at Charanjit Singh Channi as a man.
Now, Nikhil Alva’s Twitter poll has sparked discussions about whether senior management is thinking about the issue.
Punjab will go to the polls on February 20. The AAP finished second in the last state legislative elections.
