Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis comment on their rivals press conference
Nick Kyrgios says he doesn’t even “worry” who he and Thanasi Kokkinakis face as they step onto the court as they approach an appearance in the Open doubles final ‘Australia.
The Australian duo, dubbed the ‘Special Ks’, took care of business today against No. 6 seeds Michael Venus and Tim Putz, in what turned out to be a tense encounter that was at times overshadowed by a wild crowd, riding the wave for a 7-5 3-6 6-3 win.
The wild three-set victory put them into a semi-final clash with pair of No. 3 seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos.

And while their run to the last four included a stunning victory over Croatian No1 duo Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic, as well as 15th seeds Ariel Behar and Gonzalo Escobar, Kyrgios says the Aussies have prepared their opponents poorly.
“To be brutally honest, I don’t even care,” Kyrgios told reporters after today’s win.

“I just know that if we play our game and we can use the crowd, use the energy, serve well, care about ourselves, don’t care about the outside, just control what we can control, and everything will be OK.
“Today we knew there would be ups and downs. It was a damn good pair of doubles we played today. They obviously had a great year last year.
What Kyrgios and Kokkinakis thought of a wild quarter-final
“You could tell they were tough. They haven’t lowered their level at all.
“We played a good second leg in the third. But we only focus on what we need to do.
“We know what we’re doing well and it’s world class so that’s what we’ll be doing again.”
Kyrgios and Kokkinakis’ path to the doubles semi-finals was not without controversy.
Kyrgios earlier this week revealed that trainer and trainer of No.1 pair Mektic and Pavic wanted to fight him in the players’ gym after the Australians’ victory.
